Jazz
Classic jazz style and technique in a positive atmosphere. Our jazz classes focus on correct placement and technique while giving our students fun choreography and upbeat styles of music. We use various styles of music, yet any lyrics used would be classified as christian lyrics, so that music we listen to over and over again will be a positive influence in our hearts and minds.
Jazz 1
For beginners this is an introductory course and dance experience is highly recommended but not required. This class introduces students to basic jazz technique, with a full warm-up followed by simple combinations. Class length 45 minutesJazz 1 add on
For dancers with dance experience, this class is "added on" to a ballet class. Students learn basic jazz technique, with more complex combinations and an expectation for the dancer to grow in showmanship and technical ability. Class length 30 minutes This class requires addition tuition, and will need an additional costume for the end of the year show.
Jazz 2, Jazz 3.....
For dancers with dance experience. Students will progress in their jazz technique, musicality and presentation. Emphasis is placed on classic jazz styles, with current trends added for fun. Full warm up and more complex combinations are taught. Class length is 45 minutes
Jazz dancers wear black leotards, tan tights, tan jazz shoes and black (knee length) jazz pants for class. Tan tights and tan jazz shoes must be worn in performances. Hair should be securely fastened away from the face.
