Dance Radiance is the ministry arm

of SC Christian Dance. 

Dance Radiance is an outreach division of SC Christian Dance Theater and is ideal for serious dancers. The dedicated members the Company are trained to minister in dance and testimony. Company dancers perform and minister in SCCDT’s Christmas productions, the end of the year productions, local community festivals and events, local churches, schools and nursing homes.

Dance Radiance is comprised primarily of classical ballet training with more experience in other forms of dance such as tap, jazz and modern as they mature.  Being a member of “the company” allows the dancer to form long-lasting friendships and to be part of a community of serious dancers with commitment to excellence.
Everyone who is in the dance radiance company, must audition each year to continue within the company. The dance season begins in August and ends in July.  Dancers make a one year commitment to participate in all dance radiance events and rehearsals when they join the company.

Placement in the company is based on dance technique, length of study in dance, performance quality, and an outward demonstration of the dancer's desire to dance with integrity and purpose for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  Dancers are asked to submit an essay at the audition to express their thoughts on their motivations to dance

SCCDT Company Auditions for the 2011-2012 Season are quickly
approaching.  If you are considering joining the company, here are the
details to help you prepare:

Audition Date:  Tuesday, June 7, 2011 and/or Thurs, July 7, 2011
Audition Time:  (Held at SCCDT Studios)

Audition times are by level:  come to the audition level which best fits your experience

3:45pm-5:00pm -  Dancers with at least 3 years dance experience, ages 9 and up.  
(SCCDT levels completed Junior Division 1 or 2)
3:45-4:00 SIGN IN - TURN IN ESSAYS
4:00-5:00 - AUDITION CLASS
5:00-5:25 PARENT INFO MEETING

5:00-5:25 - Parent Information meeting for all ages and levels -
Parents must attend one of the information meeting for the 2011-2012 season of
Dance Radiance. (One Meeting June 7th or One Meeting July 7th)

5:00- 7:15 - Dancers with at least 5 years dance experience, ages 12 and up.  
5:00-5:25 PARENT INFO MEETING
5:30-5:40 SIGN IN - TURN IN ESSAYS
5:45-7:15 AUDITION CLASS - INCLUDES POINTE FOR THOSE WHO ARE ON POINTE

We will hold an informational meeting with parents, with details as to
rehearsal times and expectations.  No commitment will be required at
auditions.  Please note:  Not all dancers which attend will be
accepted.

Attire:
Girls – Solid color leotard,(no camisoles) Pink Tights,
     Ballet & Pointe shoes (if already on pointe),                  
Guys – Black shorts over Black Tights, White Tee Shirt; Dance shoes

Audition Fee:  $5/dancer (non-refundable)

All Interested dancers should come.  Audition will be a ballet class with some jazz/lyrical and point work given for those capable.  It will be an encouraging atmosphere aimed to see the technical level of dancers and to determine class levels for dancers to achieve the most growth.  We hope everyone will have a positive experience.  Not all dancers will be chosen for the company.
